PUNK ROCK HOLOCAUST REVIEW from
PUREROCKFURY.com

You wanna see overly-preachy vegans die a horrible, meat-consumption-related death? I do! You wanna see over 23 national punk acts meet their violent demise? You got a hankerin' for a no-budget flick thats chock full of some of THE WORST acting you'll ever set your retinas upon? -Then you've come to the right flick. Charming, while at the same time a complete disaster that faces all the same ole' indie problems (especially terrible dubbing, horrendous sound levels, etc.), Punk Rock Holocaust, aside from the demeaning above, is a susprisingly fun flick- in small doses. While quick to boast THE LARGEST on-screen body count EVER as one of its main selling points (110 deaths!), Director Doug Sakmann apparently has never heard of Olaf Ittenbach's "Premutos"- the German zombie flick that boasts a display of 139(!) kills. To be fair though, "Premutos" is one of the very few movies that actually has WORSE dubbing issues than this flick. Regardless, if its blood, gore, and vomit, that ye seek, this one's worth a glance or two. On another positive note as well, I mean c'mon, the flick is LOADED with the not-so-amazing acting of some amazing/successful bands- The Dropkick Murphys, Less Than Jake, Big D And The Kids Table, Andrew WK, Mest, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, and Pennywise, to name a few. This disc is PACKED with extras, easter eggs, and trailers too, so all in all, despite its shortcomings in plot and pacing, this one's worth the price, even if its merely for a few laughs at their expense. PS- a few of the D..I.Y. sfx, ain't too shabby either. -Deek
