As you may know the 941
Theater is run and administered by the Philadelphia
Friends of the Projected Arts. The PFPA is a non-profit
organization that we set up to support the Theater as well
as advocate the cause of the Projected Arts in Philadelphia.
We are excited to announce that the PFPA has become a legal
entity in the state of PA.
Now that that that’s done, we’re about to apply for our
501c3 classification. Once we have the 501c3 donations
made to the PFPA (and the Theater) will be tax deductible
and it will be much easier for use to get government money
and grants from corporations that want to support the
Projected Arts in Philadelphia.
BUT the filing fee for the 501c3 is $750, which of course
we don’t have. However it is essential that we raise this
money as soon as possible because the sooner we have the
501c3 the sooner we will be able to generate significant
money with our fundraising efforts. This funding will
allow us to keep regular hours at the Theater and really
bring the best possible programming to you and Philadelphia.
Please click on the donate button below or go to our
website
and donate a few bucks to our efforts. If you are a filmmaker
please take a second to reflect on the incredibly limited
amount of small theaters where you can show your movie
with ease and kick in a few bucks to help build a place
for your art. A suggested donation of $15 will go a long
way towards helping us out. But we’ll take whatever you
want to kick in.
In return, whoever donates will be put on a special list
to recieve discounts on admissions and concessions once
we start our 941 Membership Program, which includes admission
to our bi-annual members-only parties which we guarantee
will be exclusive, swanky and awesome.
Please donate what you can so we can keep the ball rolling.
As you know the Theater is going to be a really amazing
thing for everyone so kick in a few bucks!

"Find your next great score at the Philadelphia Independent
Craft Market. While you’re swimming through the sea of T-shirts,
soaps, illustrations and knickknacks, keep your eyes peeled
for the hot new thing that’ll snug your curves or hang nicely
on a pristine pedestal in a snooty gallery, seeing as crafts
are getting their due on the art scene again. Plus you’ll
get a complimentary guilt-eraser from buying singular, handmade
objects rather than supporting the evil economic structures
of soulless big-box junk. The market features more than
40 vendors selling jewelry, handcrafted clothes and the
like." (Matthew Parrish)
The Philadelphia Independent Craft Market offers a venue
for local crafters, artists, vintage clothing dealers, and
all other sorts of cool peddlers to come out and sell their
wares. There will be music, food and assorted surprises
at all of our events!

Slumber Party Slaughterhouse:
The Interactive Game –
Philly Theatrical Premiere Oct 25 - 941 Theater - 8pm -
$7 per movie or $10 as a DOUBLE FEATURE with ISLE OF THE
DAMNED - SPECIAL GUESTS TO BE ANNOUNCED!
Fully interactive theater experience - the Audience
answers Trivia questions to direct where the movie will
go!
In SLUMBER
PARTY SLAUGHTERHOUSE: THE GAME, audiences get the chance
to put their horror movie trivia skills to the test while
also helping a recently deceased high school geek take revenge
on his former friends. The story follows Paul Tard, a geek
killed on the eve of his high school graduation by his friends
greed. Paul's friends are throwing a graduation party with
hookers and drugs, and after dying Paul sells his soul to
a demon in exchange for the power to take revenge on his
former friends.
Structurally, SLUMBER PARTY SLAUGHTERHOUSE: THE GAME is
a trivia challenge. Whenever Paul wants to kill one of his
friends, the demon asks a horror movie trivia question and
the film dissolves to a multiple choice menu. If the audience
chooses the correct answer, Paul gets the power to kill
his ex-friend (and the friend's hooker, to tie up those
pesky loose ends); but the wrong answer will send Paul to
hell unavenged. Each "killscene" in the film is
written and directed by a different Halo-8 filmmaker and
stars actors from Halo-8 films.
This innovative feature stars Tiffany Shepis ("NIGHTMARE
MAN"), Melissa Bacelar ("PINK EYE," Lionsgate's
upcoming "SKINNED ALIVE"), Katie Nisa ("THREAT"),
and Joanna Angel (TLC's "L.A. INK," "SICK
& TWISTED HORROR"), Masuimi Max ("INLAND EMPIRE,"
"THE DEVIL'S MUSE") as well as several of the
girls of BurningAngel.com in a narrative, splatterpunk DVD-game
with scenes written and directed by numerous filmmakers
on the Halo-8 roster including Matt Pizzolo (THREAT), Joanna
Angel, Doug Sakmann ("PUNK ROCK HOLOCAUST"), Joshua
Nelson ("PINK EYE"), Ramzi Abed ("THE DEVIL'S
MUSE"), Kurly Tlapoyawa ("GIMME SKELTER"),
and Peter Hoare ("BEER THE MOVIE") and more!

Isle of the Damned
Premiere – Baltimore Oct 17 and Philly Oct 25
The notorious Cannibal movie is finally released
in North America!
Oct 17th - North American Premiere in Baltimore
– 8pm - $10
Creative Alliance – 3134 Eastern Ave, Baltimore MD 21224
October 25th - Philadelphia, PA Premiere - 941
Theatre -10pm - $7 per movie or $10 as a DOUBLE FEATURE
with SLUMBER PARTY SLAUGHTERHOUSE - SPECIAL GUESTS TO BE
ANNOUNCED!
In Antonello Giallo's follow up to the notorious Pleasures
of the Damned, private investigator Jack Steele is hired
by a mysterious treasure hunter to help find the lost treasure
of Marco Polo. Along for the trip is Jack's adopted son,
Billy. Their search brings them to an island off the coast
of Argentina... and into the clutches of a primitive cannibal
tribe, the Yamma Yamma.
Isle of the Damned, originally released in Italy in 1980,
brought Giallo under fire yet again by the Italian government,
who were outraged by the shocking and real scenes of primitive
tribal rituals and cannibalism portrayed in the film. The
film has been long out of print, but is presented here in
a digitally remastered form.
The screenings will include:
-Film preceded by interview with Luigi Giallo, Antonello's
son
-Message from reknowned anthropologist, Dr. Livingstine.
- In compliance with FCC regulations, a nurse will be on
staff at this public performance of Isle of the Damned in
the event of any medical emergencies brought on by the psychological
torment that this film has inflicted on previous viewers.
This film contains REAL footage of bizarre primitive rituals,
savage atrocities, and cannibalistic acts of depravity.
The restorationists of this film STRONGLY urge that those
with heart conditions, expectant mothers, and impressionable
youth NOT BE ADMITTED to the theatre.

Contest
Extended to
Monday, Sept 29th |
Halo-8
and Backseat
Conceptions, the sick bastards behind next month's DVD-game
'Slumber
Party Slaughterhouse: The Game,' are offering a chance
to participate in the game's creation and win prizes in
the process! How to enter? Oh man is it easy, just read
on for details...
The game is a slasher-movie-trivia challenge... so all
you have to do is comment at Bloody-Disgusting.com
or email sps-trivia@halo8.tv
with your favorite slasher movie trivia question (any question!)
- and if it gets used in the game, then you'll be awarded
an assortment of Halo-8 DVDs!*
"SPS was created as a Halloween treat for twisted
gorehounds like us," said SPS creator Matt Pizzolo
(writer/director of 'Threat,' upcoming 'Godkiller,' and
prez of Halo-8). "So we brought a bunch of Halo-8 filmmakers
and stars together to make a collaborative project that
also has an Audience Participation component... the theatrical
screenings will be live events with prizes awarded for correct
answers. It makes perfect sense to us that the fans oughta
be involved in coming up with the questions, too, not just
answering them."
The contest will run until next Tuesday, Sept 30th. Winners
will be announced the following week.
*DO NOT post your information, we'll contact you via private
message if you win..Even though the Bloody Disgusting contest
is over, you can still post the questions on BD.com and
we'll award prizes if we use the questions at live events.
Again, you can also email entries sps-trivia@halo8.tv.
The DVD hits shelves October 28th or you can
pre-order it here.
Also,
check out the 2 page spread in the new issue of Femme Fatales
magazine on the movie here!!
